Longmorn has quietly provided a sweet and deeply fruity component to a multiplicity of blends since its founding. Its ferments are long, the distillation takes place in eight thick-necked stills, giving a make which is weighty enough to age well in both ex-Sherry and ex-Bourbon.
It is a site defined by a heavy, oily, and complex spirit that has earned it a reputation as a blender’s treasure, famously used as a core component in the Chivas Regal and Royal Salute ranges. Stylistically, Longmorn is renowned for its signature fruit-forward and creamy texture, often described as having a more opulent mouthfeel than the lighter, grassier malts of nearby Glenlossie or the delicate, floral profile of Glen Spey.
